9-year Old Quvenzhané Wallis WINS Best Young Actress At Critic's Choice Awards After Being Nominated In The Academy Awards
Actress Quvenzhané Wallis, 9, accepts the Best Young Actor/Actress Award for her breakout role as “Hush Puppy” in “Beasts of the Southern Wild” at the 18th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 10) in Santa Monica, California.
Wallis, nicknamed Nazie, is the 2nd youngest Oscar nominee ever — Justin Henry was nominated for best supporting actor in 1979′s ‘Kramer vs. Kramer’ at age 8. The youngest Oscar winner is Tatum O’Neal, who was 10 when she won best supporting actress for Paper Moon (1973).
